Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was released just this week, yet the modding community has wasted no time in making enhancements and alterations to the game.
Since its release on August 28, within a mere 24 hours, modders have introduced a variety of changes including altering the facial appearances of characters Eva and Ocelot, reducing game stuttering, enhancing the graphics, eliminating the intro sequence, and, notably, a mod that allows players to assume the role of the game’s creator, Hideo Kojima. Presently, there are over 40 modifications available for download on NexusMods.
Additional early modifications include the removal of cinematic sequences — reportedly freeing up 21GB of hard drive space — game optimization tweaks, HUD removal, and frame rate unlocking which operates smoothly without leading to acceleration or deceleration issues. One peculiar mod even replaces the character Snake with Joel from The Last of Us.

Most of these mods are aimed at enhancing the PC gaming experience of Delta. Some of these were released before Konami’s recent patch, which was intended to fix various bugs that could lead to system crashes. The game’s publisher has stated that it is actively working to resolve all issues brought to its attention.
While you can play as Hideo Kojima in the game, this does not mean that Kojima himself will be playing Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. When questioned about whether he would try out the new remake, he simply laughed and responded, “No, I won’t.”
