At the 2025 Grammy Awards, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars clinched the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with their hit “Die With a Smile.” The track from the album Mayhem surpassed competing songs by notable artists including Ariana Grande, Brandy, and Monica with “The Boy Is Mine”, Beyoncé and Post Malone’s “Levii’s Jeans”, Charli XCX and Billie Eilish’s “Guess”, and Gracie Abrams and Taylor Swift’s “Us.”
During his acceptance speech, Bruno Mars expressed his gratitude and admiration for Lady Gaga, stating, “Gaga, it’s an honor to collaborate on this song with you. Being a part of your vast musical journey is truly humbling, and I believe this song was a divine gift meant for us to perform together. Thank you immensely.”
Lady Gaga responded by praising Bruno Mars’s character and musical talent, “Bruno, you are a remarkable individual and a timeless musician. I can’t imagine music without you,” she said. She also thanked her partner Michael Polansky for his continual support. Gaga highlighted the importance of visibility and support for the transgender and broader queer community, emphasizing, “Music is love! Thank you.”
Additionally, the duo delivered a performance of “California Dreamin’” earlier in the night. Lady Gaga also debuted her new single “Abracadabra” during the event.
