Expanding Horizons for Gears of War
Gears of War, a longstanding exclusive title for Xbox and PC, is broadening its reach. This coming summer, PlayStation 5 owners will finally experience the thrill of Gears of War with the launch of Gears of War: Reloaded. This game is a refreshed version of the original 2006 release and marks the second remaster of the game. The recent Xbox Games Showcase unveiled a new trailer for Reloaded, offering a glimpse to PlayStation enthusiasts of what they have been missing.
The narrative of the game unfolds on Sera, a colony world where humans face extinction from the menacing Locusts, creatures that emerged from beneath the planet’s surface about 14 years prior to the game’s setting. Players step into the boots of Marcus Fenix and the Delta Squad in a desperate bid to turn the tide of war and reclaim their planet.
Enhanced Gaming Experience
Microsoft has enhanced this version of Gears of War to support ultra-high definition with 4K resolution at 120fps, along with multiplayer capabilities. It will feature cross-play and cross-production across all supported platforms. Furthermore, those who possess the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will be eligible to receive Reloaded at no additional cost.
Looking Ahead: Gears Of War: E-Day
Anticipation is also building for the next installment in the series, Gears Of War: E-Day. This prequel focuses on the events of Emergence Day, featuring the original voice actors for Marcus and Dom. However, as of now, this title is slated only for release on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with no confirmed launch date.
Set to release on August 26, Gears of War: Reloaded will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. It will also debut as a day-one release on Game Pass for Ultimate subscribers.
