New Track from Destroyer: “Hydroplaning off the Edge of the World”
Destroyer, led by Dan Bejar, has released a new track titled “Hydroplaning off the Edge of the World.” This song is the latest single from Bejar’s upcoming album, Dan’s Boogie, and follows the release of “Bologna” last month. Accompanying the new single is a music video directed by Sydney Hermant, a frequent collaborator of Bejar. The video, featuring nighttime scenes captured by Bejar himself, can be viewed below.
Discussing the creation of the video, Bejar shared, “Initially, Sydney and I aimed to create a visualizer for ‘Hydroplaning’, reviving her 24-year-old Canon GL2 which had been unused for years. I’m particularly fond of the grainy quality of the footage. Eventually, this project expanded into a full-fledged music video. In the video, I wander around, attempting to channel a Parisian vibe, while interacting with crows. It’s essentially a snapshot of a day in my life.”
Upcoming Release and Tour
Dan’s Boogie is scheduled for release on March 28. In the meantime, Bejar is set to join Father John Misty on his tour across North America. Their collaborative performances are expected to commence next week.
