CMG Worldwide Teams With Loti AI to Protect IP for Estates of Burt Reynolds, Jimmy Stewart, Judy Garland and More (EXCLUSIVE)

As concerns rise within the entertainment sector about OpenAI’s Sora 2, the legacies of late celebrities such as Judy Garland, Jimmy Stewart, and Burt Reynolds are being protected through a new agreement focused on AI and likeness rights. This deal involves a partnership between deepfake detection company Loti AI and intellectual property management firm CMG Worldwide.

This agreement enables Loti AI to deploy its sophisticated technology and services to shield the images and estates managed by CMG from unauthorized digital exploitation and alteration. The personalities and estates covered include notable figures such as Burt Reynolds, Christopher Reeve, Ginger Rogers, Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, and many others spanning various fields from entertainment to science and civil rights.

Under the terms of their collaboration, CMG will benefit from “ongoing monitoring, detection, and removal services” that Loti provides, ensuring that impersonations or unauthorized uses of their clients’ likenesses and voices are promptly addressed across various digital mediums. Loti AI commits to maintaining the integrity and authenticity of globally recognized figures with precision, consent, and dignity.

The initiative is a forward-thinking measure within the discourse of digital rights management as AI technologies like Sora 2 facilitate the creation of digital doubles of deceased individuals, who cannot give their consent to the use of their likenesses.

“Each icon we represent has profoundly influenced culture. Unauthorized digital reproductions not only threaten their reputations but also potentially alter historical narratives,” said Joey Roesler from CMG Worldwide. “With Loti’s support, we can safeguard their images and ensure their stories and legacies are accurately maintained.”

“The increasing reliance on technology highlights a new era in the management of legacies and rights, where estates from historic figures to contemporary celebrities seek robust digital defenses to maintain their authenticity, reputation, and value amidst rampant content manipulation,” stated Luke Arrigoni, CEO of Loti AI. “We are honored to collaborate with CMG to protect the likenesses and legacies of some of the most influential and culturally significant individuals in history.”

Arrigoni further explained: “This partnership demonstrates Loti’s dedication to empowering people to control their personal and posthumous digital presence. As synthetic media grows, these protections become vital for maintaining confidence in digital interactions. It is essential for families and estates to have the ability to enforce their decisions concerning the use of posthumous likenesses. By guarding the legacies of these icons, we move towards a future where unauthorized content and consent violations are eradicated online.”
