A State of Trance 600: The Expedition, Mumbai, is just around the corner and we’re going to help you get prepared for it!
A State of Trance started way back in 2001 on ID&T Radio (now known as Slam!FM), by Armin van Buuren. The show was built with a purpose; To show people new trance music, to promote upcoming artists and songs, and give commercial releases some airplay. All that was snugly fit into 2 hours by Armin van Buuren. The international success of the radio show gave inspiration to many DJ’s to start their own radio shows, now which can be found in abundance.
ASOT 600: The Expedition

How Do I Get There?
The venue for ASOT 600 Mumbai is Turf Club, Mahalaxmi. This is the same venue where Swedish House Mafia played earlier in January.
If you’re travelling by car, just head over to the Bandra-Worli Sea-link and make your way ahead to the Mahalaxmi Racecourse. If you’re travelling by train, just hop off at Mahalaxmi station and cab your way down. If you’re walking, good luck!
We’d like to advice all our ravers that you’re bound to experience some HEAVY traffic on the way to the venue and thus we advice you to leave much earlier in order to have a smooth travel there.
Do’s & Dont’s for ASOT600MUM:
Well as you know, The Expedition in Mumbai is going to a staggering, mind-blowing 8 hours! And in 8 hours, one does seem to wear out and get fatigue. So we’re going to provide you with a list of points so that you can gain the maximum out of this experience!
Wear comfortable clothing! We’re going to ask you to tone down your fashion sense just a bit for today. You’re going to want to wear clothing that you’re most comfortable in. Clothing which is easy for you to move around in and helps you feel cool.
High-heels can stay at home! Ladies, this isn’t a club. You’re not going to be assessed on how fashionable or how much you paid for your heels. Make sure you keep your feet happy. We suggest wearing flip flops or closed-toe shoes. Anything comfortable, you’re going to be dancing 8 hours continuous, your feet will abuse you the next morning.
Stick together! We assume you’re going in a group, unless you’re a loner raver and that floats your boat. Always stay with your friends and group. There around going to over 5,000 people at the venue and getting lost is quite easily achievable. Most likely you’re not going to get a cell reception and finding your friends is definitely going to be an ‘Expedition’ for you.
Don’t accept drinks from anyone! Yeah, it’s been said a thousand times, but it’s sensible. Always buy your own drinks and never have anything that’s been offered to you. Someone may spike your drink with an illicit substance, and that may absolutely ruin this concert for you. Stay safe and drug-free!
Carry cash! If you’re not aware, Turf club is a horse-racing ground. You’re bound not to find any ATM’s around. So always be prepared and carry cash for your alcohol/food/beverages and extra for any emergencies. Make sure it’s kept in a safe place, we usually like to put it in anything that has a zipper.
Choose what crowd you want to be! You can either be the uber-fans that go way up in the front, be the followers in the middle, or be the ones that want their space to enjoy at the back. Remember, the further inside you go, the further crowd control you’re going to have to manage.
Be prepared for the worst! Understand that a lot of people are going to be there. You’re bound to be pushed, stepped on or elbowed at one point of time. But always remember what you’re here for. Keep your anger under control and make sure to have a good time.
Stay hydrated! Remember that this is a long event and your body is going to get dehydrated. Once in a while, switch your poison for a bit of a water, just so that your body can keep going on and on and on and on and on!
Exit peacefully! The concerts done and now you’re trying to get home as soon as possible. Be calm, everyone else is going to exit too, so don’t be pushy and don’t be aggressive. Walk out calmly and the rest will do so too.
Follow these basic guidelines and you’re bound to have an absolutely bangin’ time at ASOT 600: The Expedition, Mumbai. Be sure to pick up some merch at the venue so you have something to bring along back with you after it’s all over. We hope you all have a great time and keep raving!

Dillon Francis remixes Justin Timberlake’s – “Suit & Tie” [Preview]
Justin Timberlake recently made a comeback to his music career and released the first single “Suit & Tie (feat. Jay-Z)” earlier this year from his upcoming album “The 20/20 Experience” which is set to be out this week. Dillon Francis who is firing up some great production work lately, creating a breathtaking trap remix of Dada Life’s “So Young So High” and his track “Bootleg Fireworks (Burning Up)” is also getting a huge response. The first information that came about Dillon remixing “Suit & Tie” was through his instagram where he uploaded a picture stating that he’s gonna remix “Suit & Tie” and also a remix for Passion Pit, which most probably will be their track “Carried Away” remixed by Tiesto as well.
He takes up Timberlake’s pop tune to present his remix treatment, adding his signature hard kicks and snares along with his moombahton sounds turning it into an ultimate trap production he’s known for. Messing around with JT’s vocals to a great extent while Jay-Z rapping is missing throughout, Dillon beautifully constructs the remix with the highly processed vocals and you can also notice the original track samples here & there as well. As confirmed by Dillon via Twitter, his remix is accepted by Timberlake himself for an official release and will be out soon, no release date yet though. So, Enjoy this freshly baked tune right below and watch this space for more update.

Tiësto Announces 20 Month Residency at Las Vegas Super Club – HAKKASAN!

Top DJs have been doing residencies in Las Vegas since time immeorial, when outstanding artists like Erick Morillo and Paul Oakenfold planted their roots in Sin City and more recently, the Wynn and Cosmopolitan hotels housed Kaskade, Deadmau5 and more but no other artist has made a commitment quite like the one Tiësto (who also happens to coincidentally be our Artist of the Month) is making.
“I’m going to dedicate my year to Las Vegas. Just Vegas, maybe a couple of festivals. I haven’t decided yet”, Tiësto was quoted saying. As part of his residency the legend has entered into a new partnership with Hakkasan, Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel as he bypasses Ibiza, Spain, the long undisputed dance capital of the world, for the summer entirely.
“With the scene blowing up in America, Vegas is so much fun now,” he says. “It’s the right time to do it. I do everything on my gut feeling, and I felt like it’s gonna be awesome there. I’ve been to Ibiza for 10 years, and I love Ibiza, but I always look for something new and a new challenge.”
As part of his 20-month deal with MGM, Tiësto will perform more than 20 daytime shows at the Wet Republic outdoor pool but the major crux of his residency, which begins in April, will be more than 40 gigs at the new five floor Hakkasan, Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub, a massive space that holds more than 7,000 people. “They want to make it an experience,” he says. “For sure, the production inside the club is going to be amazing.”

Tiësto who is always scheming to deliver a new & different show each week to keep audiences on their toes says, “I think nowadays, with people having mobile phones and the Internet, you have to be even more aware that people see the show even before they come. You have to make sure you can always surprise them every time you do a production” . He intends to do so by bringing fresh talent with him. “I love that I can bring some of the new DJs to my home,” he says. “I want to have new DJs every week there”.
For long standing fans of the unmatched Producer/DJ, the move shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. In 2011, while speaking to a leading publication about his College Life tour across universities, Tiësto admitted that after two decades of nonstop touring around the globe he was looking to settle down a bit and be closer to the music industry hub of Los Angeles.
“I can be more in the studio with artists [this way] instead of just bouncing tracks back and forth, and really produce other people’s albums and songs. So that’s going to be the biggest change,” he says. “It doesn’t matter if they’re famous or not – I just want to meet other creative people who can maybe bring something different to the studio than what I have. I think that’s the most important thing for me.”

Aussie DJ Ajax killed after being hit by a truck in Melbourne, Australia
Some sad news has just come in, Sydney-based DJ Ajax (born Adrian Thomas), died instantly after being hit by a truck in Parkville, in Melbourne’s inner north just before 1AM.
“It’s believed the man ran in front of the north bound truck on College Crescent shortly before 1AM. He died at the scene,” a police spokesperson was quote saying.
Thomas, who turned 42 yesterday & died on his birthday, was part of the Modular Records signed, Bang Gang who have to their credit hit compilation albums and club nights and also founded the music label and management company, Sweat it Out.
Tributes have since flooded into Twitter and the popular DJ’s official Facebook page from friends, fans and industry colleagues.
Well-known Melbourne DJ Grant Smillie told the Herald Sun it had been DJ Ajax’s birthday yesterday and that he was shocked to receive the news of his death. ”He was an icon for our industry and was always really positive. His energy was infectious,” Smillie said.
“He had the ability to make the most underground record cool.
“It was his birthday yesterday. I only saw him two weeks ago in Melbourne at an event with Sneaky Sound System.”
OneLove director Frank Cotela said he could not believe the news and that his assistant Tyson O’Brien was good friends with him and was devastated by the news.
“We are really shocked about this, he was a genuine, top block,” Cotela said.
“He was a big part of the OneLove and Stereosonic family, and produced numerous CD’s for OneLove.”
O’Brien said that Thomas had been out on the eve of his 42nd birthday and had plans to meet for dinner with another Melbourne DJ Miami Horror.
“It’s quite shocking news, I was meant to meet up with him but had to work,” he said. “He was the life of the party, a captivating ball of energy and a true dance legend, as he liked to call himself.”

“There’s so many other Australian acts he’d encourage and champion along the way as well. I’ll remember the times we all spent in rainy London together in ’06 when we should have been cold and depressed, but he’d always spread his infectious fireball energy to make everyone cheery and untroubled. People loved to be around him. A hub and father figure of the scene. He’ll be greatly missed.”
Sneaky Sound System‘s ‘Black’ Angus McDonald was a close friend of Thomas.
“RIP my brother, RIP my inspiration, RIP my roomy, RIP my favourite (sic) DJ ever… I love you so f—– much,” McDonald wrote.
American DJ A-Trak wrote, “RIP to Ajax, my thoughts are with all the Australian homies, I can’t believe this. Such a warm and generous dude, a real leader.”
German Boys Noize on his facebook page said, “I can not believe the news that our good aussie friend Adrian DJ AJAX has passed away. this is so sad ;(

Ajax was regularly voted one of Australia’s Top 5 DJs and launched his own label Sweat It Out in 2008. The label scored major success with Yolanda Be Cool’s international hit “We Speak No Americano”. Ajax will definitely be missed by a large part of the dance music industry and we at The Bangin Beats extend our condolences to everyone close to him including his family, friends and fans.
