Blake Lively to Appear at SXSW for “Another Simple Favor” Premiere
Blake Lively is set to attend the world premiere of “Another Simple Favor” during the opening night of SXSW this Friday.
According to the film’s director, Paul Feig, Lively will be joined by her co-stars Anna Kendrick, Henry Golding, Michelle Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins at the event.
This appearance marks Lively’s first public appearance at a major event following her recent legal issues with Justin Baldoni. She previously made a public appearance at the “SNL50” celebration in New York City this past February, where she was seen with her husband, Ryan Reynolds.
The debut of this Amazon Prime Video sequel to “A Simple Favor” will take place at the Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas. “We are expecting almost the entire cast, both returning and new members,” Feig commented on Thursday afternoon.
Feig has publicly expressed his support for Lively amidst her legal and public relations battle with Baldoni. “Blake is fantastic,” he remarked. “She is an absolute pleasure to work with. She’s very collaborative, brings incredible ideas to the table, and is receptive to others’ ideas. She’s a true professional.”
Lively has filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, who directed their film “It Ends With Us” that was released in August, accusing him of sexual harassment and conducting a media smear campaign against her after she raised several concerns during the film’s production. In response, Baldoni has filed a lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation.
Additional premieres of “Another Simple Favor” are scheduled in New York City and Los Angeles, leading up to the film’s launch on Amazon Prime on May 1.
