“Weapons” unfolds in a quiet suburban town in Pennsylvania and spins a chilling tale. The plot thickens when, one night at 2:17 AM, all but one child from a third grade class mysteriously flee their homes, plunging the community into deep grief. Initially, the investigation and the community’s anger are directed at the third-grade teacher, Justine. However, as with Cregger’s debut “Barbarian,” “Weapons” reveals itself to be an even stranger and more unsettling story, told from multiple perspectives and shifting between events before and after the disappearance. This film has earned its place as one of the highest-rated horror movies of the year.
While Cregger’s first movie “Barbarians” is still awaiting a physical release, he is currently working on a “Resident Evil” adaptation, set in the universe of Resident Evil 2, which is in pre-production and expected to hit theaters next year.
The Steelbook Edition of “Weapons” may currently carry a high price tag, but in contrast, another critically acclaimed horror movie, “The Long Walk,” an adaptation of a Stephen King novel, is seeing a more affordable Amazon-exclusive 4K Steelbook available for preorder at $26.65, down from $35.
