New Metroid And Kirby Wireless Controllers For Switch And Switch 2 Are Available Now

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to finish 2025 on a high note, with several major releases scheduled through to December, including the highly awaited games Kirby Air Riders on November 20 and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond on December 4. These games are not only generating buzz on their own but will also see the release of new themed Amiibo figures and official merchandise soon. Additionally, third-party accessory manufacturer PowerA has introduced two new themed wireless controllers for Metroid and Kirby, which are compatible with both the original Switch and the Switch 2. These controllers, which were released on August 27 and are priced at $70 each, are currently available for purchase on Amazon and present a great alternative to the standard Switch Pro Controller.

For those considering the Metroid Edition PowerA Nintendo Switch Enhanced Wireless Controller, pairing it with the newly released Metroid Edition PowerA Wired Earbuds could be a great choice. Priced at only $25, these earbuds feature a sleek blue and black design that complements the gamepad perfectly. Additionally, if you’re interested in the features of these controllers but prefer a different design or a more affordable option, the Mario Pop variant of the same controller is currently on sale for $36, down from its regular price of $60.

If you’re looking for more alternatives to the Pro Controller, Turtle Beach offers a variety of options. Following its acquisition of PDP last year, Turtle Beach has rebranded several PDP controllers with designs inspired by Mario and Donkey Kong. The Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller featuring a Mario Bricks design will be released on October 12. This controller includes a unique lenticular design that changes with your viewing angle, motion controls, and remappable back buttons, making it a compelling alternative to the Metroid and Kirby themed controllers from PowerA.

Another Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller is set to release on the same day, this one adorned with a Donkey Kong-inspired lenticular design in striking black and green. Additionally, the Invincible Mario and Super Mario Star editions are currently available, so consider these options before expanding your collection with the Metroid and Kirby controllers.

Now is also an excellent time to consider preordering the upcoming games for Samus and Kirby. Preorders for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, launching on December 4 for both the Switch and Switch 2, are currently available. This release is accompanied by several new Amiibo figures, including the Varia Suit Samus, Samus’ new Vi-Oh-La suit and motorcycle set for release on November 6, and an Amiibo of the antagonist Sylux available from December 4. In addition to the game and Amiibo figures, an art book titled Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective will be released on October 28, providing an in-depth look at the development and lore of the first three Metroid Prime games.

Preorder Details for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

Regarding Kirby, the next title, Kirby Air Riders, is set to launch on November 20 exclusively for the Switch 2. Preorders for the physical edition are open at various online retailers. Like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Kirby Air Riders will also feature its own series of Amiibo figures, including Kirby & Warp Star and Banana Waddledee & Winged Star, available from the game’s launch date.

It’s also worth noting another significant release for the holiday season, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, scheduled for release on October 16 for both the Switch and Switch 2. Preorders are currently open, and for those who haven’t yet purchased a Switch 2, the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Switch 2 Bundle might be appealing. Priced at $500, the bundle includes the console and a digital copy of the game, offering a saving compared to purchasing the items separately for $520. This bundle is available for preorder from Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop, among others.
