Noah Centineo to Star in Rambo Prequel

Noah Centineo has been cast to portray a youthful John Rambo, originally brought to life by Sylvester Stallone, in the upcoming “Rambo” prequel produced by Millennium Media, which is titled “John Rambo.”

The inaugural movie in the “Rambo” series was adapted from David Morrell’s 1972 novel “First Blood.” It follows the tumultuous life of a Vietnam War veteran and former Green Beret, skilled in the use of weapons, close-quarter combat, and unconventional warfare tactics. Spanning over four decades, the franchise includes “First Blood” (1982), “Rambo: First Blood Part II” (1985), “Rambo III” (1988), “Rambo” (2008), and “Rambo: Last Blood” (2019), collectively earning more than $800 million globally.

Rising to stardom through his performance in “The Fosters,” Centineo gained further recognition as the charming Peter Kavinsky in the “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” series on Netflix. He expanded his portfolio by starring in and producing the espionage series “The Recruit” for Netflix. In 2022, Centineo joined forces with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the film “Black Adam,” where he played Atom Smasher. His recent role was as gunner Brian Zawi in the Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland-directed “Warfare” for A24, featuring alongside Joseph Quinn, Kit Connor, Charles Melton, and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai. His other works include roles in “Charlie’s Angels” and “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.”

Additionally, Centineo leads Arkhum Productions with Enzo Marc. Their first production, “Our Hero, Balthazar,” premiered at Tribeca and is a dark comedy directed by Oscar Boyson. The film centers on an affluent teenager who creates videos advocating for stricter gun laws to gain social media fame, until he encounters an internet troll planning a school shooting, which drastically alters his perspective.

Centineo is represented by WME and the law firm Myman Greenspan Fox.

The news of his casting was exclusively reported by Deadline.
