50 Cent Certainly Seems Like He's Joining Street Fighter Movie As A Beloved Character

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, famed for his role in “50 Cent: Blood in the Sand,” is set to join the upcoming Street Fighter film. He recently hinted at his involvement by sharing on Instagram a teaser of his character, Balrog, donning blue boxing shorts and red gloves.

Nexus Point News was the first to break the news about Jackson’s potential involvement in the Street Fighter project. Confirming the rumors, Jackson shared an image from the news article on his Instagram page, suggesting his participation is almost certain. This week, the casting was further bolstered by the addition of Callina Liang, who will portray the beloved character Chun-Li. The film’s cast also includes notable figures such as Jason Momoa and WWE star Roman Reigns.

Jackson is no stranger to the video game industry, having starred in two video games in the 2000s: “50 Cent: Bulletproof” and “50 Cent: Blood in the Sand.” On the other hand, Balrog, the character he is slated to play, made his first appearance in “Street Fighter 2” and became playable in its subsequent edition, “Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition.” Originally named M. Bison in Japan, the character’s name was changed to Balrog in international versions due to trademark issues.

Sony Pictures recently removed the Street Fighter film from its release lineup; it was initially set for March 20, 2026. Despite this setback, casting for the movie continues to advance, and earlier this year, “Bad Trip” director Kitao Sakurai was announced as part of the project. This film will mark the third live-action adaptation of Street Fighter, following the original 1994 movie and the 2009 film “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.”
