Andor's Elizabeth Dulau Wants To Play This Iconic Video Game Character

Elizabeth Dulau, a British actress, made her first significant appearance in Hollywood through Disney+’s Andor’s inaugural season. Following a more prominent role in the second season as Kleya Marki, Dulau has set her sights on portraying one of the most iconic characters in the video game world.

“To be honest, portraying an action hero like Lara Croft would be a dream come true!,” Dulau shared excitedly in an interview with Country and Townhouse. “Those closest to me wouldn’t be surprised to hear this. Growing up, I was captivated by characters such as Lara and Indiana Jones, pretending to battle villains around my home with my toy bow and arrow. Lara Croft’s combination of intelligence, coolness, and physical prowess left a lasting impression on me as a young girl. It would be incredibly fulfilling to bring that inspiration to other children,” she explained.

However, Dulau might have to wait for her turn to play the coveted role. Sophie Turner, known for her role in Game Of Thrones, was reportedly in discussions to embody Lara Croft in Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming live-action Tomb Raider series. The series was being developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge of Fleabag fame for Amazon. Yet, following some unconfirmed rumors that the project might be shelved, and with no recent updates from Amazon especially after the resignation of Amazon Studios chief Jennifer Salke in April, the status of the series remains uncertain.

The character of Lara Croft was first brought to life on the big screen by Angelina Jolie in two Tomb Raider films. Alicia Vikander later assumed the role in the 2018 movie Tomb Raider, which drew inspiration from the video game’s 2013 reboot. Vikander was slated to return for a sequel, but plans for the next movie never materialized.

Meanwhile, Hayley Atwell is the voice of Lara Croft in Netflix’s animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, which was renewed for a second season shortly after its initial release last year.
