A Fresh Gathering Place for Hunters
The presentation kicked off with an introduction to the new endgame hub called the Grand Hub, designed as a social space for hunters. Here, players can engage in various activities like group feasts, arm wrestling competitions, and enjoy nightly performances from the Diva. Additionally, a new Barrel Bowling mini-game will be available, which offers vouchers as rewards for participation, leading to further prizes.
Players can access the Grand Hub once they reach Hunter Rank 16 by speaking with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Makes an Appearance
As announced, a significant highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of Mizutsune, a monster known for its agile tail strikes and powerful water jets. Hunters who have reached HR 21 or higher can embark on this challenge by visiting the Scarlet Forest and speaking to Kanya to start the quest, which also allows for crafting new gear from Mizutsune.
More Monsters to Hunt
An upcoming Event Quest will feature Arch-tempered Rey Dau, a more challenging variant than the standard Tempered battles. Hunters will need to be HR 50 or above to take on this quest, with new armor sets as a reward for those who succeed. Additionally, Zoh Shia will be available for re-challenge through new quests once players reach HR 50, with opportunities to craft additional new armor.
Arena Challenges
Arena Quests are set to provide a unique challenge for speedrunners, allowing hunters to compete for the fastest clear times. These will include both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests, with special pendants awarded for participation and achievements. These quests can be accessed at the counter in the new Grand Hub.
Updating Alma’s Wardrobe
Alma, one of the game’s busiest handlers, will now have customizable outfit options. Players can alter her look through an appearance menu at the camp. One new outfit will be provided for free, and players can also change Alma’s glasses after completing a specific side mission.
Upcoming DLC Content
A mix of free and paid DLC will coincide with the launch of Title Update 1. This includes classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games available for free and various items in the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, accessible through the in-game store or for those who have purchased the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition. New stickers and additional customizations for Alma are also coming soon.
Additional Event Quests and Seasonal Activities
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events are scheduled, with the latter featuring temporary changes to the Grand Hub’s appearance and available meals. These events also offer limited-time equipment, gestures, and decorations. The Seasonal Events begin with the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance on April 23, which will introduce pink cherry blossoms and new decorations to the game. Capcom confirmed that most previously available events and Event Quests would return in the future.
Looking Forward
Here’s the plan for rolling out Title Update 1 and its associated content in the coming months. Title Update 1 launches on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance event starting April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau will be available from April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration are expected to debut.
Previewing Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a sneak peek at the upcoming Title Update 2, set to arrive this summer. While no specific date has been set, a brief visual hinted at the potential return of the underwater leviathan, Lagiacrus, stirring up excitement for its possible involvement.
Capcom’s latest release in the monster-slaying series has already achieved impressive initial success, and with Title Update 1, the company is poised to establish a rhythm for future updates.
