In a surprising turn of events, Justin Bieber has cancelled the remaining tour dates of his Purpose World Tour. The world tour, which started in March 2016, spanned North America, Europe, Australia, South America and Asia, has been called off to an abrupt end due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
According to a statement on Bieber’s website,
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts. Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run.
However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.
However, on a recent video snippet on TMZ, the Canadian superstar said
I have been on tour for two years. I’m looking forward to just resting, getting some relaxation and we’re going to ride some bikes.
The cancellation will affect shows in the US, Canada, Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong and Singapore, totaling to a whopping 14 shows.
