A sad day for dance music fans in Brasil and around the world, it looks like Tomorrowland Brasil won’t be returning in 2017. While its sister edition in North America namely TomorrowWorld had been officially cancelled this year following major backlash from the attendees and consequent bankruptcy of SFX Entertainment, the Brasil edition of Tomorrowland won’t be making a return next year.
As stated by Tomorrowland Brasil in a recent social media announcement, the festival won’t take place in 2017 due to external factors which has consequently led to its cancellation. While the festival aims to make a comeback at the earliest, ID&T’s prime property, Tomorrowland in Belgium continues to excel and dominate the festival space, and has even announced two weekends for its 2017 edition!
While it remains to be seen is whether its sister editions receive an opportunity to bounce back, check out the full statement below.
Dear Friends,It’s with heavy hearts that we inform you that Tomorrowland Brasil will not take place in 2017.
As always, Tomorrowland wants to give you, the People of Tomorrow, the best and most unique experience. Unfortunately, due to external factors we can no longer create the right environment to host a Tomorrowland Festival in Brazil.
We will do our utmost best to come back as soon as possible since the love and energy Brazil gave to Tomorrowland was amazing.
Keep the memories in your heart forever…With love,
Tomorrowland Brasil
