Regular from Richie Hawtin’s Plus 8 and Minus labels, Dublin based techno producer Matador recently released his debut album on his own label Rukus and is now back with quite a heavy five-track EP that is sure to get your heart rate pounding in no time. Known as “Velvet Revolver”, the record marks as Matador’s one of the most diverse work lately containing back to back quality productions of his style. While it is ‘Bells & Whistles’ in the EP that catches good attention. Raw analog synth sounds layered over hypnotic kick drum, perfectly complemented by high-hats, provide for a distinct techno sound that is usually unheard of.
