Flume season is upon us. Ever since he announced his sophomore album ‘Skin‘ back in January, we have been treated to sinful melodies every other week. Having already dished out multiple singles from his upcoming LP, Harley has now collaborated with English electronic duo AlunaGeorge for their track ‘I Remember‘.
Taken off from the duo’s upcoming album, the track was was officially revealed by Annie Mac on her BBC Radio One show and is a gorgeous culmination of lush sounds that is bound to leave you on an emotional tear. Debuted during the duo’s performance at Ultra this year, the vocal single is a beautiful blend of Aluna’s sultry vocals laid on top of Flume‘s signature future bass sounds. With wavy synths and minimal percussion work sweeping up most of the production, the phenomenal effort is the soundtrack for the summer ahead.
Talking a bit about the meaning behind the melancholic collaboration, Francis said:
“When you bump into an ex and you think you’ve really gotten over them. There’s that moment when you’re acting like strangers but there are so many memories that pop up in your head and in a way you wish you could go back to the beginning and go through the best bits. The rose-tinted sunglasses parts. It’s an irresistible thing that goes through your mind if you have any lingering feelings for somebody. As much as you try to get over them, there are still memories.”
