Submerge partnered with Italian fashion brand, Underground Music Movement(UMM) and hosted a one-of-a-kind contest, The Next Gen DJ Contest which started on 30th September and spanned across 5 cities namely, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Pune.
On 16th October, this DJ Contest witnessed its last leg with the grand finale being held at Sky Deck, VR Bengaluru. The 5 DJ finalists from each city battled it out on the console to win a chance to realize a career in the professional DJ space in India.
The finalists were mentored and judged by stalwarts like Tuhin Mehta, DJ SKIP, Dj Ivan, Dj Mash, Anirban Bhattacharya , Dj Clement , Nawed Khan, Sean Etienne de Souza & Julia Bliss, who found the right mix of talent and skill in the winner, ‘Dual Vibes‘ (Vinay Veliyat), a young and aspiring DJ from Ahmedabad.
UMM Circuit Grand Finale with Sick Individuals
The gig saw huge success and is a major step for the EDM scene in the country with brands like UMM that are facilitating and encouraging homegrown talent by providing them a once in a lifetime opportunity, which includes gratification to the winner which will help them take their DJ-ing career to another level, such as a one year management contract with the leading dance music artist management company, Submerge, a one year pro DJ course and professional DJ gear from Pioneer.
