Martin Garrix Announces Techno Alias, Set To Collaborate With Joris Voorn For First Single

Garrix Voorn

He might have conquered the world of EDM, but Martin Garrix is not the one to rest on his laurels. The 19 year old has seen insurmountable success in the last 2 years, from headlining festivals all around the world, and releasing massive singles, either in collaboration or individually, to launching his own record label.

Now in a move to cater to fans of the underground, Garrix has announced his techno alias, where he’ll be producing and performing under the moniker, Gartini. Speaking about his latest move, Garrix says:

I’ve always been a big fan of techno and house. Growing up in the Netherlands, I was always surrounded by techno, tech house, deep house and the likes, and I believe this is the right time to give it a try. I’ve achieved so much with EDM ever since I started out, and even though it might sound like a risk, this is the right time for me to “shake things up”.

While this may surprise a whole lot of dance music fans, his collaborator for his debut single under his techno moniker will simply take the cake. Martin Garrix is set to collaborate with Dutch techno behemoth Joris Voorn for the first single. Voorn, who checked out Garrix’s set at the recently concluded Ultra Miami and was impressed by the 19 year old’s performance, didn’t require much convincing for the collaboration.

“Martjin is a talented producer, and has an ear for melodies. While I usually do not go for collaborations like this, an opportunity to try something new was too good to give up.”

While there are no more details about the collaboration, you can read the full statement here.
