Veteran turntablist and soulful French producer, 20syl has remixed none other than Odesza. This is bound to send fans of both Odesza and 20syl into an instant tizzy. Sylvain’s streak of high quality releases seems to be unending. Hot on the heels of his original ‘Inertia,’ follows yet another great track – his superfluous, revitalizing take on Odesza’s brilliant ‘It’s Only.’
It’s a unique departure from the original’s slower paced composition. The rework creates a very upbeat atmosphere with multiple layers of energy that emanates from the classic 20syl synth boosts, glitchy vocal chops, playfully punching bass and faster drum tempo.
Sylvain never fails to surprise listeners and never fails to take his remixes to galaxies similar, yet distanced from the originals. This song does exactly that. Again. Set for a release on the 19th February, stream the remix below.
