Daft Punk are one of those few legendary icons in the music industry worthy enough to be a part of the history books. The dynamic duo undoubtedly take the crown for being one of the most powerful artists in the music industry for the past two decades. Ever since their debut back in the 90s which has gone on to shape a culture, they have been omnipresent figures in the scene even before it went on to witness a gigantic boom. Dubbed as the pioneers who spearheaded the French house movement, their songs have been an integral part of dance music history and always will be.
One certain production, indeed not an original but a remix for fellow French producer I:Cube‘s track “Disco Cubizm” has outstandingly stood out from their exceedingly successful catalog and still remains a classic. Released way back in 1996, this one dates back even before their debut album Homework which served the audience in 1997. To kick off Versatile Records‘ 20 Year Anniversary celebrations, the legendary Parisian label plans to represent their relationship with the duo by reissuing the classic rework on a special 12″ Vinyl. Making up Side B of the rare piece will be an unreleased remix of “Venus Sunshine People” by DJ Gregory. Indeed a rare piece of history, Daft Punk fans shouldn’t miss the chance to grab their copy. As Versatile Records is set to release Disco Cubizm / Venus EP on March 18th, you can relive the vintage classic below!
