Two things in the downtempo world are appreciated heavily. Tycho’s originals, and Tycho’s remixes.
The famous electronics act always makes sure any release that gets their stamp of approval is of the highest quality, and filled with organic drums and gorgeous synth work. Apogee is a fine example of that, bringing the euphoric electronica vibe in full force.
In complete contrast to the brilliant original, RJD2‘s version of Apogee is a downtempo, easygoing track with soothing synth pads and stabs in various places and a laid back vibe compared to the original. All in all, it’s a remix Tycho would be proud of.
