- William Grigahcine earned the moniker ‘Snake’ after he constantly evaded the police due to his graffiti art, and then started using DJ Snake after the moniker stuck.
- DJ Snake started producing music in 2009, having produced Lady Gaga’s Grammy nominated album ‘Born This Way’ in 2011, as well as remixing Kanye West’s ‘New Slaves’, amongst many more.
- DJ Snake was inspired by cult French film La Haine, from the 90’s to make music.DJ Snake met several famous hip-hop and electronic DJs (including Daft Punk) while working at Paris’ most famous record shops, some of whom like DJ Cutkiller would later become amongst the 28-year-old’s most important mentors. DJ Snake revealed in a past interview that a pivotal scene from the 90’s cult French film “La Haine”, where DJ Cutkiller starts spinning music for his neighborhood from his window sill, helped to calcify his pursuit of becoming a deejay.
- DJ Snake started DJing at the age of 14, and opened for Snoop Dog when he was 18 years old.
