Born in Alhama de Granada, Spanish Techno icon, Miguel Bastida is one of the most promising Spanish producers in the underground scene. His creativity, feeling and rhythm in the studio have taken his works to the best clubs and festivals, being played by big DJs as Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna, Umek, Luciano, Sebastien Leger, Dubfire and John Aquaviva.

In 2008, Bastida made his debut with a dynamic and dance floor-focused 5-track EP named “Salero“, which had combined many influences and gave a deep-rooted minimal tech sound. After releasing a series of productions over the years, in 2011 he started his own label, Be One Records, with “Follow Me” being the debut release on the label.

While Miguel Bastida kept on going with a high amount of releases on various record labels, the clubs started to catch his groovy style and he was becoming a hot name in the underground scene. His remix of “What’s The Problem” by Samuel Dan and German Brigante left quite an impression on his name and style.

In 2013, Bastida made his Toolroom Records debut with two of his tracks, “Eclipse” and “Bad Man” on the 12th edition of Toolroom Records Selector Series.

His funky collaboration from 2013 with Florian Kaltstrom, “Tired of Life” gave a fresh sound and also got included in two of Be One Records annual compilations.

Later that year, in collaboration with Salero, Bastida released “A Point In The Universe EP” on his Be One Records.

His release on Deeperfect, “The Specialist” including a Tech House remix by Hollen added a new gem in his creations.

In between his constant flow of releases, with one more Deeperfect release, “Cielo EP“, Bastida set the dance floors on fire for one more time. His “Critical Dub EP” on Be One Records was received very well in the clubs and by the fans.

Considered to be one of his top 10 releases, the “Inner Dreamer EP” received a huge support from the names like Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati, Hollen, Agoria, Gregor Thresher, Someone Else, Stacey Pullen, Scratch Massive, Martin Landsky, UMEK, Pavel Petrov, Tocadisco, Reinier Zonneveld. It  defined a unique Bastida sound with atmosphere building synths and crispy percussions.

After having been featured his work on numerous record labels’ ADE compilations of 2014, Miguel Batisda released his Moudness/Assault EP which is considered to be one of the best contributions to the Techno scene by Batisda.

With a fixed spot in top 100 with every release, “Moudness” reached no.2 on the Tech House Beatport chart and also got featured in 2015 edition of Toolroom Ibiza. In a similar line to Moudness/Assault, he made a new idea of sound called “Focus“, trying to capture the essence of different countries. By his efforts to express his experience through different opinions and tastes of his listeners, Bastida delivered the fresh sound of Focus One EP in 2015.  With his focus series, he wanted to symbolize the flavors of underground music from different countries in the form of his music. UK and Canada were the chosen options for the first edition of Focus.

After the Focus One, Miguel Bastida combined his studio knowledge and skills with Florian Kalstrom in the attempt to reach, what they see as, the next level as electronic artists. A mutual friend introduced the pair to Dubfire and it wasn’t long before the SCI+TEC boss was road-testing their tracks in his sets. It may have taken some time, but soon enough the right tunes came together and their “Conflict of Life EP” was born.

When the Deeperfect boss Stefano Noferini and Hollen teamed up for the monstrous “Rediscovered” and Miguel Bastida stepped up for the remix and stripped things down quite a bit, with a sticky bassline filling in the gaps between the bubbling rhythm section, yet adding a lengthy breakdown for added suspense and excitement. Bastida also brought some serious subliminal action to the table with a splendid two-track EP named “Gangsta Groove” on Deeperfect.

After his groovy releases, it was the time to show some special stuff from Bastida, opening the concept of different ways. He shows us a new melodic idea with the focus on the energy of the melody with great synths and huge breaks with his track “Evidence Of Another Universe“. Later he follows up his Focus series with a brand new edition of USA.

In the recent releases, we have his melodic rendition of “Uncounted” by Alex Mine (on Comade Music) and a brand new EP named “Whitness” on the legendary Coyu‘s record label, Suara. Whitness is also Bastida’s debut releases on Suara which was released just last week. In this release Bastida offers different sides of their sound; “Withness” is full of groove and powder for the dancefloor. “Wench” is elegant, heavy techno, “Soul Reactions” is based on a powerful, driving melody which has been revisited to perfection by Gorge in a delicate, quality remix. This quality release has bagged support from the big names like Maya Jane Coles, Mark Knight, Technasia, Pleasurekraft, Reboot, Riva Starr, Kaiserdisco, Noir and many more!

Having released his work on a number of reputed labels like Sci-Tec, Bedrock, Trapez, Deeperfect and many more, Miguel Bastida has also played at a lot of festivals and clubs around the world like Creamfields (Spain), Cielo (New York), Dream Festival (Mexico), Electrobeach (Spain), E-Tech Festival (Brazil) El Row (Barcelona) and many countries like Switzerland, Canada, Ecuador, Venezuela.
