Above & Beyond have a special place in the hearts of every trance fan. Be it their pulsating melodies or fascinating live shows, they have captured the imagination of fans across the world. So, when this remix pack arrived on their SoundCloud a week back, we were thrilled to hear it in it’s entirety because the Anjuna family delivers some mind-blowing remixes at an amazing regularity. This time it is no different. the remixes span across genres, each one true in its identity while retaining the charm of the original song.
Up first is the extended mix of the original track. An absolute delight, Above & Beyond have never given even an average track. All of their tracks are interlayered with delicate synth work, innovative effects and a lot of atmosphere which makes it an emotional experience, listening to the song. Gemma Hayes has done a brilliant job on vocal duties and she adds a whole new dimension to the track. Next we have Finnish deep house champion, Yotto, who adds a very groovy and deep touch to the song; almost a dreamy vibe.
London based Shur-i-kan also remixes the track to deliver his deep rendition. Timely wobbles combined with a very laidback synth layer which gives a very chilled out vibe to the whole experience, this is one of our favorite remixes on this pack.
Hospital Records resident, Keeno, has taken the duty of delivering a DnB remix of the track and boy has he done it in a fashion! Retaining the charm of the original tune, he has added a wonderful frenzied tension to the proceedings with a nice touch of drum and bass.
US duo Dan Davis and Chris Nelson aka Judah, have taken the song and given it a distinct, almost Pryda-esque vibe to it. Deriving on heavy grooves and big buildups, their interpretation is electronic and punk-driven.
A journey through all the genres and emotions is what this remix pack induces and we love it and all it’s offerings. One can never fail when it comes to Anjuna Family in putting good tracks and they have successfully re-affirmed this belief. Check out these fabulous tracks here:
