After months and months of teasing their fans, Axwell and Ingrosso finally landed in Ibiza for the opening party of their weekly residency at Ushuaia hotel! Our writing team was present there to witness one of the best events that Ibiza had ever seen!
At the entrance of the venue, our team was greeted with a gigantic silver “A” sign that represents the new logo of the duo. After catching up with the media team of Ushuaia, we made our way towards the huge stage that was already blasting some magic tunes from the local favorites – Mambo Brothers. They set up the stage for Robin Schulz who made an instant impact with the crowd by belting out his version of Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars”.
Our pick of the entire set were the following two pieces. Axwell and Ingrosso’s upcoming collaboration with Shapov “Where I Belong” – this song has a beautiful piano tune supporting Shapov’s vocals that makes it a sure shot candidate for a festival anthem in the coming weeks. You can’t help but feel that this track has a massive Sebastian Ingrosso influence about it! Secondly, Axwell and Ingrosso’s mashup of Major Lazer’s “Where are you now” with Calvin Harris’s “I’m not alone”! By carefully setting up the drop of “I’m not alone” with the vocals of Justin Bieber, he manages to once again come up with a hell of a mashup!
Overall, the show once again proved that even though times have changed, the boys have not lost their magic and are once again masters of this space! We would like to thank the entire team at Ushuaia Beach Hotel for providing us with amazing hospitality and a great experience to witness one of the best acts the hotel has seen!
