Giorgio Moroder is nothing less of an icon in electronic music. From being credited to pioneering synth disco and dance music to having collaborated with the likes of Freddie Mercury, David Bowie and Daft Punk, the man has done it all. And with his comeback album ‘74 is the New 24‘ due to release after nearly 30 years since his last album, the legend is all set to have an eventful 2015.
And now to add to the list is his upcoming collaboration with bass heavyweight Skrillex, for curating the soundtrack for an upcoming Tron video game. In an interview with Clash, Moroder said “I’m going to meet Skrillex next week when I’m back. I’m doing the music for a game for Disney’s ‘Tron’. We have about five themes, electronic stuff and let’s see if he’s interested in remixing or re-working one of the songs.”
He also revealed that he’s working on the soundtrack for a major movie, but wouldn’t reveal the name.
“I have an offer to do a big movie. I cannot tell you what, but it’s… not a 150 million dollars but a big movie, big production. So I have to go back into that, it won’t be easy. I do this with a great musician and a great composer, so we do it together.”
