Born in Hong Kong, based in Brooklyn but ethnically from India, Ashwin Khosa‘s sound is as versatile as his journey so far. Working his way slowly up the Techno ladder, Khosa makes a firm climb with the release of his next EP, ‘Wolf of Pine Street‘. Not categorically, your over-ambitious money-mongering movie adaption you were hoping for, but carefully caressed in the deep enchants of Tech and Deep Progressive, this EP unveils some of his most classies cuts thus far. Also part of the EP is a stunning remix by India’s up-and-coming Oozeundat. The entire pack found itself being released on MBF Recordings.

The first track on the EP is the dark and driving ‘Peasant‘. Starting off with some driving beatwork and minimalistic yet hypnotic layering, the subtle synthwork and sinister undertones shine through the track lending it an insanely nocturnal vibe. The massive beatwork toward the bridge make it a perfect selection for a set when it’s peaking. Really dark and really groovy, this is one bassline that’ll dig itself deep into your brain. This track is followed by the far heavier ‘Konig‘, which has got a subtle tribal percussive layer, along with spiraling synthwork. Although this track has more audible elements and layering than its predecessor, it’s still as nocturnal with certain elements that could send chills down your spine. The final contribution on original production comes in the guise of ‘Thenatophile‘, which forms a fitting crescendo to all the buildup incurred by the former two tracks. Hit by a chilling vocal sample, the track features carefully addressed FX and tribal percussion and synth pads that fit perfectly to the ambiance created on the EP. The EP concludes with a peak-hour submission by Indian wonderboys Oozeundat. Fresh on their trail of fantastic productions, the duo give their delicious after-hour touch to ‘Peasants‘ to make it the perfect dancefloor track.
