Crowd-at-Sunburn-Goa-2012-Day-2

We’re just about a week away from one of the most sought after festivals in the world – Asia’s largest music jamboree, Sunburn Goa 2014. 2014 has been a splendid year for Sunburn that spread its wings to cover more cities like Hyderabad, Ahmadabad and Vadodara and infuse a dance music culture and appreciation across the country. With their massive success with the several Arenas, Campus tours and Pre-Parties, we can’t help but be bright eyed and bushy tailed for Sunburn Goa.

Yep. That’s how stoked we are for the three day extravaganza. For those of you who are going to visit Sunburn Goa for the first time and are not satisfied with the minimal information the official website provides, here are ten things we can expect from Sunburn Goa 2014!

1. 150+ Artists and a Multitude of Sub-Genres

That’s right, 150+. From dubstep to melodic house, underground to live performers, Sunburn’s got pretty much everything covered with this year’s stellar line-up. The past year saw some of the biggest names in EDM in India, from Nicky Romero to Hardwell, Krewella to Deadmau5and Goa only continues to extend this trend. From the monumental duo behind Tomorrowland’s theme song- Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to heavyweights Knife Party, fans can go gaga over Sander van Doorn, Paul OakenfoldDamian Lazarus, Danny Avila, Subfocus, Sasha or homegrown talents Zaeden, Shaan, Dualist Inquiry, MojoJojo and B.L.O.T. Does the line-up excite you? It sure has us raring to go. Expect shrill screams when fan favourites get on stage. Just imagine, over 200+ hours of brilliant music.

2. 8 Stages

Sunburn’s 8th year would only be fair if there were 8 stages right? Well, don’t worry, because Sunburn’s ready to awe you with another absolutely new, stunning and breath-taking stage. After its brilliant past indulgence in aesthetic stages, from the edgy Cubezoid stage to the Temple stage and trance-inducing pyrotechnics and laser shows, confetti, sound systems, be assured that your experience will be enhanced and defined by the beauty of this  intriguing new stage we can’t wait to look and let our jaws drop in wonder at.

3. A Multitude of Attractions

Stunt-biking, zorbing, volleyball and bungee jumping, hold your horses, we’re only halfway down the list. Sunburn 2013 featured some great attractions and we don’t expect to be let down this year. Paracopters, hot air balloons, ferris wheels, flea markets, book library, circus tents, sports village and an open air movie theater. What could be better than all of these in a single space? Sunburn caters to the needs of every kind of person, be he a bookworm, a sports addict or just a woman who enjoys collecting a fair share of adventure sports achievements. Does that sound great or what?

4. More After-Dark Parties

Be sure to drink your Gatorade and Glucon-D boys and girls, because the party doesn’t end with the last set of the day. With even more After-Dark party venues lined up for us, Sunburn is going to make us make the most of party season. That’s right, celebrations stretch past midnight and into the wee hours of the morning with the best DJs! While all after-dark parties are accessible to VIP pass holders free of cost, trust us when we say that a small splurge on one of these is totally worth it. While last year had 9 Bar and Terrace Bar and Kitchen as some of the venues, we cannot wait to see what 2014 has in store! So store up on that energy, we hope to see you cruising from Vagator to one of these venues!

5. A Motley  Collection of People

Sunburn 2014 is sure to be a potpourri of music lovers and rave enthusiasts. Expecting visitors from 40+ countries and even some Bollywood stars, Sunburn will definitely bring together myriad cultures and countries and serve as a great platform to make some new friends. So make the most of this cross-cultural amalgamation under the love for electronic music!

6. The Kite Festival

One of Sunburn’s most attractive past-times would be its kite festival. The sky dons several shapes and colours and is enjoyed by, if not participated in, by several visitors. This year’s festival should be brighter and more fun! Here’s what to expect from the kite festival!

7. On Site Camping

For all the lazy ones and those of you who are going to be in Goa to make the most of Sunburn, the festival offers limited availability on-site camping. A great way of being omnipresent at the festival and never missing a single beat, this is a surefire way of getting the full Sunburn experience! Nothing can beat walking out of your temporary home and being at a few steps’ distance to the multiple stages. No traffic, no worries. You and your clique can just wake up and..

8. Cruises (Ladies, this one might delight you!)

Sunburn has the best means to calm you down or restore your energy before your favourite DJ gets on. Offering cruises on the beautiful Arabian Sea, you’d want to arrive on time for a turn at the sea-cruise. You never know, you might be the lucky one on cruise as the sun sets on the horizon. A great romantic getaway from the music for some of you. Yes, ladies,  welcome to Nirvana.

9. Happy Hours from 1-3 pm

That’s right, Goa is already every alcohol enthusiast’s dream abode, and now Sunburn, to encourage early arrival and interaction has offered happy hours each day from 1-3 pm. Is that not cause for celebration? Expect to see a lot of quirky dance moves as a consequence!

10. A Tropical Paradise

If all else fails to excite you, the good news is that Vagator’s massive size and monumental beauty is sure to steal your heart. So kick back and relax or dip your feet into the deep blue of the Arabian Sea.

To top it off, Vagator’s massive size allows a guaranteed spot for each and every car, motorbike, bicycle, camel, horse, elephant or whatever else you want to ride in on! Our favourite part? Free parking, bang! next to the venue. Doesn’t that sound divine?
