Versatile drummer and producer Aditya Ashok, also known as OX7GEN is all set to launch his latest music venture in the form of OX7GEN Live, a new live band collective. Having already made his mark as the drummer for bands like Shaa’ir + Func and The Colour Compound, Aditya decided to go solo for his next project, and released his debut EP titled Any Minute Now in 2012, under his drum and bass moniker OX7GEN.

And now 2 years later, he’s gearing up for the release of his second EP, Dimensions. And to accompany the release of the EP, he’ll be taking the band on a multi city tour, starting from 30th of October , with Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and Bangalore being the cities on the tour. Having already played across the country, Aditya has now out together a band to reinterpret and play the music from his album in a live setting. The band features Bradley Tellis (of The Colour Compound) on guitar and samplers, Rohan Rajadhakshya (of Spud In The Box) on keys, Suraj Manik (of the now defunct Rosemary) on bass guitar and Donn Bhat on guitar, while he takes over the drums and synths. The band will also feature guest vocalists including Siddharth Basrur, Saba Azad, Rachel Varghese and Rohan Mazumdar.

Talking about the new project, Aditya says “Being a drummer first and foremost, it was only a matter of time before I left the decks, sat behind a drum kit and got some of the city’s best musicians to reinterpret my music. I’ve always been fascinated with recreating dance music with instruments that are not conventional to electronic music. I haven’t really see bands do something like this, and I think it’s a great aesthetic to add to a live dance music performance. All of this will be complemented by a synchronised lighting and visual rig.”

Dimensions, the yet to be released EP, takes on a liquid funk/drum and bass sound, complete with harmony and melody, while also featuring the vocals of Rohan Mazumdar on the title track, Rachel Verghese on Momentary and Siddharth Basrur on Are We There Yet and All Your Love.
