Ultra Music Festival has decided to raise the minimum age of its attendees to 18 and above, for its Miami edition. The move comes after a lot of festival goers complained of too many irresponsible teenagers present at the event in recent years.
The decision came to light when promotion fliers for UMF were being distributed at Electric Zoo earlier this weekend, with the tickets for the 2015 edition going on sale soon the flier featured a statement which said ““the safety and security of our attendees, artists/performers, and personnel are out utmost priority and concern.”
Though there has been no official statement from Ultra yet, the move seems like a smart decision by the festival, which might make it a more safer event in the future, though concerns regarding drug related deaths and other concerns still remain despite other festivals already following the 18+ age limit protocol.
If made official, UMF will join a list of other festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo and HARD Summer, whereas TomorrowWorld is even more stringent with an age limit of 21+.
