Dutch Company Launches Revolutionary FONO, Solar Powered Public DJ Booth

The home of many superstar djs in the world, Netherlands aka Holland genuinely has some music-driven blood in the veins of its citizens. In a recent development of technology to extend the love of electronic dance music easily, a Dutch company ‘Yalp Interactive’ designed a solar-powered DJ booth that would be used in public places.

The environment friendly product runs on a machinery called FONO and allows people to play music stored in their smartphones. Currently installed in public parks across Holland, Finland and Denmark, FONO is aimed to connect people with music seamlessly and encourage them in an optimistic way to opt for DJing as a career at an early age. Some of the key features included in FONO are FX, sync and cue, while the pitch shifting function was found to be missing.

On being asked by Yalp about the technology description, it detailed: “[Fono is] made to dare minors and teens to explore their musical creativity, to let them make, rearrange and share music with their mobile phone and to create a social meeting place for them”.

This will facilitate Dutch DJs to flourish in a better way as they will be starting even younger. Yalp has also released a little commercial to talk over the future of FONO, and even though it isn’t a fully operative booth, people can run-through the basics and keep the music going anyplace.
