Bangin’ Special: Tomorrowland’s 10th Anniversary Edition!

The last 10 years have seen dance music grow and take over the world in a bid for global domination that would put all Bond villains to shame. A festival that has been the pioneering force of this movement, and none other than the holy grail of all dance music events, Tomorrowland! Apart from attending this historical occasion, The Bangin’ Beats has curated a list of what makes the 10th anniversary edition truly special:

1. Double the Weekend, Double the Fun:

To celebrate 10 years of the magic in Belgium, the festival will take place over two weekends – July 18th to 20th and 25th to 27th – so you better make this a trip you’ll never forget. All 360,000 tickets sold out in less than an hour, setting a new record for the great heights dance music has reached. Truly an iconic year for the brothers Beers, be sure to take in both weekends and explore all that makes this festival Boom!

2. A hymn created exclusively by Oscar winning composer, Hans Zimmer:

Do you know who Hans Zimmer is? A film isn’t truly powerful until its score has been created by this musical genius. The makers of Tomorrowland realized this, and got the king of composing on board to create their official hymn to commemorate 10 years of bringing the best of dance music to the world. Two worlds have collided and the result is pure, unadulterated power. Hans Zimmer got together with famous composer, Lorne Balfe and electronic wizard, Junkie XL to write the epic piece of music. The anthem combines various musical aspects, including tribal drums, from tribes all over the world. He adds, “This music cannot exist without the emotional resonance of everyone who’s there and who’s hearing it.” And honestly, what can be more emotional than violins? Feeling the goosebumps yet?

3. Don’t Fear, MTV is Here:

If you’re missing out on the festivities this year, don’t fret. MTV will be broadcasting the event in its entirety for your viewing pleasure.The premier global music channel announced that it will exclusively broadcast live event footage from the Belgian EDM festival as a part of the MTV World Stage programming. This would be the first time that the festival will be televised across as many as 550 million homes worldwide, making it truly historical.

Bruce Gillmer, the Executive Vice President Of Talent and Music Programming/Events at Viacom International Media Networks says, “Tomorrowland is a festival in a category of its own, so we’re excited to bring this content to MTV’s international audiences. Electronic dance music has been part of MTV’s repertoire for almost two decades, stretching right back to the early years – particularly in Europe. So working with Tomorrowland is a perfect fit, and connects us with the new generation of EDM fans and followers around the world.”

4. Themed Hotels to really get you in the mood!

Tomorrowland and Global Journey have selected three unique hotels that will be transformed to suit the festival theme including the hotel Bloom! “Land of Happiness,” The Hotel “Land of Dreams,” and Sofitel Louise “Land of Glory.” DreamVille, the colourful camping ground will also be available, offering tents, mansions and lodges. While you’re experiencing the wonder of Boom, you will also be provided:

5. A New Stage Design?

As is customary, Tomorrowland releases a trailer for its festival, both dramatic and equally exciting. But what makes this year unique is the possibility of a new stage design. Rumour has it, the brothers Beers buried caskets of whiskey all over the field 10 years ago and will unearth and serve them at the festival this year!
