Gone are the days, when you’d be rushing through your wallets at the last minute in those exhaustive queues at Festivals, hunting for a few extra bucks to fend off the vendors so that you could grab your drink or meal just in time to make it for the next track! Remember how we spoke about B-pay wristband from Barclays being the way forward for cashless transactions at Festivals? Well, if the organizers for the emphatic Lollapalooza festival have something to say about it, we all might actually not have to dish out no cash at all with the advent of their ingenious Lolla Cashless wrsitbands!

Lolla Cashless is the first effort from a major U.S. music festival to use radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled wristbands for payments. The Chicago based music festival will start with the initiative by sending concertgoers bracelets that can be linked to credit card information for buying food and drinks. With the help of a small technology chip that’s embedded into the wristbands, attendees will have the option to enter their credit card information once a bracelet is registered online. All of the restaurant and drink vendors will have point-of-sale systems set up so that users can tap the bracelets against a technology-enabled pad and type in a PIN code to pay for items. The payment is then automatically applied to a credit or debit card. Simple! So think of your bracelets as a wearable credit card that you can tap away for easy purchases! Expect plenty of expenditure now as Tapping gets a lot more easier!
