Business magazine Forbes reiterates the mercurial rise of Dance Music in Northern America, as the latest ‘Most Powerful Celebrities List’ by them, includes the most consistent and familiar faces from the EDM fraternity. With International musicians such as Beyonce, Dr Dre, Jay Z taking away top honors finding their presence in the Top 10, Superstar Scottish DJ Calvin Harris resumes his place as Highest Earning DJ with a ranking of 21 and Swedish sensation Avicii comes up on the Power List at a respectable ranking of 47.
With an annual earning of $66 million, Calvin Harris sits within the Top 25, above musicians with the likes of Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Lopez and Pharrell Williams. Meanwhile, with earnings reaching $28 million, Avicii stays within the Top 50, to give Electronic Dance Music a major boost in the Musical perceptive for the American audiences. The list itself is combined using data from various sources taking into account earnings, earning estimates, entertainment-related-earnings, social media reach & cultural impact. Earnings however carry the most weight, with celebrities divided into categories like musicians, actors, actresses and personalities, placing a certain number of celebrities from each category on the final list.
