The recently concluded four day multi-genre event Electric Forest ended on a tragic note, as it resulted in the death of a 20-year-old volunteer. According to a press release, Brian Alan Brockette was serving as a volunteer for an outside vendor when he suffered a medical emergency at around 11 p.m. on the festival’s final night. He was assisted by Medical staff on ground, before being taken to a local hospital where he was declared dead. The press release further added that The Oceana County Medical Examiner’s Office has conducted an autopsy and is waiting results. Here’s a statement from the promoters of the festival:

On Sunday night, the festival’s health and safety team was alerted to a medical emergency involving an outside vendor’s volunteer. Event medical personnel responded along side Michigan State Police troopers. The man was then transported to a local hospital. We later learned that, unfortunately, he passed away. This festival was created to celebrate life and to enjoy music in a magical setting. This has deeply affected everyone involved with the event. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

The festival celebrated its fourth annual music-featured event and was held at its traditional customary venue, the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury. Co-produced by Insomniac Events and Madison House, the event garners an attendance of close to 30,000 people every year.
