One of my favourite producers, L.A based ZHU had released a spellbinding track titled “Faded” not too long ago. While ZHU’s original version received accolades for the singer/ producer’s deep house falsetto vibe, Seattle-based producer duo Odesza ditches all nuances one has about this track to produce one of the best remixes we’ve heard all year.
With a funky intro to start off with, Odesza decides to re-work and interpret this tune in a variety of ambient and grungy fashions. Twisting blends of distorted guitars, soaring synths, earthly drum work and absolutely breath-taking chopped vocals, Odesza’s progressions are truly flawless. Maintaining the original composition and altering the tempo altogether, Odesza truly assure us of their unmatchable skill yet again.
