Markus Schulz has a religious fan following that he’s garnered over the years But its his alter-ego Dakota that has commanded supreme respect under the Trance fraternity. The alluring moniker under which he produces tracks with a darker, deeper and Trance-induced tones returns for the glorious 175th release for the iconic Coldharbour Records! The track is aptly titled ‘CLXXV‘ – the roman numerals for 175, and adds to the string of driving trance melodies that Dakota is so adored for!
Markus’ Dakota alias stems from his years spent as a resident DJ in Arizona contributing productions and remixes to labels such as Bedrock and Yoshitoshi. After a seven year hiatus, the alias was revived in 2009 and two episodes of the ‘Thoughts Become Things‘ series were released and have become part of every Trance listener’s library. Markus Schulz return under the Dakota hat could swell up a trance inferno with this track as he embodies the hallmarks of Markus’ traditional traits, combining deep rolling basslines with soulful melodies.
The track debuted in grand fashion during his solo set at Space in Miami during Winter Music Conference. The track builds on a rolling drumline sequence with a warm melody building up in the background. The melody turns sharper as we reach the break with additional atmospherics and FX encircling the buildup till a classical drop makes its mark, as the melody fuses into the soft sonic terrain shaped by the drumline.
