Screech lord, Skrillex has recently been all over the news for laying a great store by the release of ‘Recess’. After impressing his fans with the release of his debut album, Sonny launched a new Record imprint ‘Nest’ which aims at featuring free releases from new and upcoming artists. It’s about sharing fresh music in the best way!
Nest HQ, a venture made by Skrillex last year in order to provide new, inspiring and evolving ideas in dance music a platform to thrive, is considered as one the most avant-garde projects for EDM today and ‘Nest’ will be run under its wing for the same reason. As Skrillex’s main record label OWSLA is more commercial based, Nest on the other hand, will showcase free records to promote independent artists with potential.
The upcoming American DJ, AC Slater’s “Back To The Floor” EP was chosen as an inaugural release for the record label. When asked about the meaning behind his new EP, AC said, “Back to the Floor is just a statement of where my head is at musically. Taking the focus from the superstar DJ concert back to the clubs. The whole “put your hands up” and shit is cool but it’s kinda played out for me personally.”
