The 2016 Billboard Music Awards is finally beyond us and we have our adjudged winners. With three categories solely dedicated to the electronic music genre, the awards up for grabs were ‘Top Dance/Electronic Artist’, ‘Top Dance/Electronic Song’ and ‘Top Dance/Electronic Album’.
Amongst the likes of The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, David Guetta, Major Lazer and more gracing the list of nominees, LA-based producer Zedd took home the award for ‘Top Dance/Electronic Album’ for his sophomore effort ‘True Colors’. The next one being a no-brainer of sorts, Major Lazer and DJ Snake‘s massive hit ‘Lean On‘ was adjudged as the ‘Top Dance/Electronic Song’ which dominated 2015 and has several other accolades under its belt.
Lastly, producer/DJ heavyweight David Guetta was named as the ‘Top Dance/Electronic Artist’ who was up against the likes of other worthy competitors like The Chainsmokers, DJ Snake, Zedd and Major Lazer who may have toppled the Frenchman by an exponential margin in terms of production effort and live performances.
