SoundCloud Partners With LANDR And Stagelight For Mastering Music For Free & Much More

It looks like SoundCloud is back on the right track to fix its relationship with creators and consumers alike. If the several copyright issues are its biggest bane, the streaming platform is looking to encourage creators and musicians with their brand new partnership with LANDR and Stagelight.

The hook up with LANDR, a professional mastering program for artists will let them enhance tracks specifically for the platform free of charge. The 2015 launched startup are known to give tracks “a quality finish like any major label artist with a budget”.

In conversation with Resident Advisor, a LANDR spokesman said:

“We use exactly the same algorithms but we did some research to find the best output for optimising the sound of any track on the SoundCloud streaming format. The optimised tracks will only be hosted on SoundCloud and not in LANDR’s track library. It is really aimed at streaming on SoundCloud. If a user wants to get a proper master, they will have to buy it from LANDR in HD WAV, WAV or high or low-res mp3 formats.”

The newly announced feature will be free for every SoundCloud user given they create or have a LANDR account. Free users will also be entitled to download one free high res-WAV while Pro and Pro Unlimited users will get two and four WAVs respectively.

In addition, their partnership with Stagelight, a user-friendly production app, will help budding and inexperienced musicians alike to build on their production skills on a highly creative yet simple platform.
