In news that shocked the very core of the dance music world, Paul Bäumer, one half of world famous electro production/dj duo Bingo Players, lost his brave fight with cancer. This sudden news caused the entire dance music community to express their condolences in solidarity with Maarten Hoogstraten.

Bingo Players are a huge success and have had a number of world-famous and widely loved hit releases such as Rattle, Cry(Just a little) and Out of My Mind.  Co-member Maarten posted this on their facebook page:

“Dear All,
I’m deeply saddened to tell you that Paul passed away last night after his battle with cancer. He fought strongly until the end.

We want to thank you all for your support over the past few months.

Needless to say, all upcoming shows for the rest of this year have been cancelled as we’re going through this loss with family and friends. We’ll post a longer update shortly with more information as well.

Paul, we will miss you.
– Maarten”

In July, Baumer announced on the duo’s fan page that he had been diagnosed with cancer. (Read more of that here) Since then, there have been snippets indicating that Paul had been responding well to the treatment. Thereby making this sudden announcement, a shock to the world.

We at The Bangin Beats would like to extend our thoughts and hearts out to Maarten Hoogstraten, and Paul’s friends and family. Our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy for the loss of one of dance music’s most loved and respected members.
