In December last year, the dance music industry was left mourning the loss of one half of the Bingo Players, Paul Bäumer who passed away after losing his battle with cancer.
Now a couple of months later, at the second night of the ‘San Francisco takeover’, world renowned producer/DJ Skrillex paid a unique & heartfelt tribute to his ‘good buddy’. After riling up the crowd and declaring that they should all ‘rage for Paul’, Skrillex went on to play Cry (Just A Little), which now maintains a rather sad and unfortunately ironic aspect. However, that didn’t stop the crowd from having a good time and forming a conga line around the decks, singing along to the Bingo Players‘ hit.
It seems to be a cliche but surely this is what Paul would have wanted. Instead of a moment of silence, we as fans have the continuation of the the Bingo Players and the remembrance of a remarkable talent such as Paul, through his music.
