Scottish DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer Adam Richard Wiles, better known by his stage name Calvin Harris, has just released two brand new singles. Surprisingly, these two tracks aren’t the typical club-friendly sounds that Calvin has become wildly associated with. Instead, the highest paid DJ in the world becomes art curator as he reinvents two delightful singles originally crafted way back in the 70’s!
Originally crafted by RnB artist Earl Wiley, the tracks had been recently discovered at Chicago’s Stereosonic facility. Calvin Harris renders the track in its original spirit with a slight contemporary funk groove which only accentuates the composition. ‘Wives get Lonely Too’ has some hurtful vocals creamed with that familiar funk and jazz sound from the 70’s lending it a dark and moody tone. Meanwhile, ‘Love’s Recipe’ has a happier tone to it, as the pleasant vocals remind us of that familiar image of friends playing beach ball, while lovers sit in the sand holding their hands! Have a listen in to both the songs to see the diversifying practices of Calvin Harris!
