When HARD Events released its trailer centered around a Hitchcock-esque murder mystery to catch a scorned ex-artist on a killing spree of victims – from a dead Deadmau5 to a dead Zeds Dead (what’s with all the “dead”s?) – it had cleverly announced that Day Of The Dead had arrived. On the weekend after Halloween, the festival delivered state-of-the-art production to over 70,000 costumed fans who submerged Los Angeles’ State Historic Park. A monumentally impressive line up for a two-year old music festival, Skrillex, Calvin Harris, Eric Prydz, and Pretty Lights were all revved up for the spookily themed event – check out Deadmau5’s voodoo pinned mask. Watch the aftermovie below, which makes clear what a misnomer the festival name is given how un-dead the scene was. I see dead people… going hard!
