There are some tracks that bend rules and norms, and act as curveballs that confuse and delight in equal measure! Crosstown Rebels head honcho Damian Lazarus has curated one of those, through the first chapter of his alluring Ancient Moons project. So while you’re grooving onto some classy LA based Tech house mumbo, try to not act surprised as you hear the qawwali inputs of Pakistani singers Fareed Ayaz, Abu Muhammad and Hamza Akram, on this brilliant new composition called ‘Lovers’ Eyes‘. While the lyrics insist on a closer-to-home feel, the composition itself is as immaculate as any from the Lazarus’s treasure chest. The track now has an official video, featuring the qawwali singers in action and attire, and the track is up for online purchase!
The video features the three adorable singers with plenty of hand gestures as they stress on the poetic nature of the lyrics and the magnetic love that attracts two lovers. With watermarks and overlays of Moon shots, the ambitious project by Lazarus, The Ancient Moons kicks off a stunning sonic journey through the magical textures of ‘Lovers’ eyes‘.
