After announcing that they were parting ways in June of 2012, definitely no one expected Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen to return to Pendulum anytime soon. The pair felt the electronic rock/drum and bass fusion had run it’s course.
Swire in fact had asserted, ”We’re having too much fun with the Knife Party project. It’s also great because Pendulum towards the end sort of felt like we were doing it because we had to and that’s never a fun way to do music. Whereas Knife Party is pretty much solely us doing what we want to and if no one likes it we don’t care”.
However believe it or not, with a year past, Rob took to twitter to make a magnetic revelation.
We're probably going to release another Pendulum album some time next year.—

Since the international success of ‘Immersion’, featuring hits like “Watercolour” and “The Island”, fans have been clamoring for new material from the progressive behemoths and now, after a four year hiatus, the group’s revival surely will be received emphatically from a dance music community eager for innovation, though Rob doesn’t think so…
It will have been 4 years since the last one and probably no one will give a fuck, but neither do I….so it's all good :)—

Now, as if this revelation wasn’t enough, it looks like we can also expect a full-length album from Knife Party next year, which shall release prior to the new Pendulum album.
There will be a KP album before that also. Probably should have mentioned that first. i153.photobucket.com/albums/s201/ka…—
