Nile Rodgers to collaborate with Daft Punk again!

Hot off the heels of their new album release, which garnered tremendous coverage & appreciation, Daft Punk look keen to collaborate on new music with Nile Rodgers once again. Rodgers has apparently found some lost music that he believes “they’d love to work on”. The unreleased material dates back his Chic days and has been stored away – until now.
Rodgers was quoted saying, “I found in the Warner tape library, some old, unreleased Chic masters that didn’t belong to them that were in boxes that said Chic, but when you opened them up they had Johnny Mathis inside, my film scores, they had Nile Rodgers solo tracks, they had Chic tracks that were not designed for any project except for the guys working with me writing songs. So, I’m going to finish that, and this is an exclusive: Daft Punk wants to do at least one of them with me, so that should be very cool, because they respect the music, they understand”.
The veteran musician says he “trusts” Daft Punk as producers, which is why this stuff is finally being unearthed. The unheard music is rather varied, according to the legendary guitarist: “There’s some solo stuff, tracks by Johnny Mathis and Fonzi Thornton, the soundtrack to a film called Alphabet City, and Chic recording in Stockholm”.
Their previous collaboration,”Get Lucky“, which also features Pharrell Williams, helped Daft Punk spend two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with new album “Random Access Memories“. The track’s considered the front-runner for this year’s Song of the Summer title and if that is anything to go by, we can only imagine what the future collaboration holds, whatever it may be, we’re sure its going to be very exciting!
