The EDMbiz conference has set the dance music world in a tizzy with a plethora of announcements and tie-ups with the industry’s biggest players. Another partnership has formed, this time between media company OneBeat and multi-platform network Music Choice. The newly formed twosome plan to bring TV programming with a focus on dance music to cable TV.
While we’ve seen sprinklings of dance music’s inclusion in the mainstream media — including major network television channels like MTV– it’s been sparse and often surface level. OneBeat and Music Choice hope to change that trend with over 24-hours of content. Viewers can expect lifestyle, character based, and artist profile shows including: You Should Know Me By Now, Road Trippin, and Themantics. Artists and labels whose inclusion has already been announced include: Armin van Buuren, Steve Angello, Skrillex, Art Department, Hardwell, Porter Robinson, Pete Tong, OWSLA, Size, Toolroom, Armada, and Om Records.
The content is scheduled to become available for free to cable subscribers nationwide beginning on July 1st and runs until August 11th.
