The truth is curiosity never killed the cat. I mean NEVER. So a name like Dusky for a band is a very intriguing name in indeed. Where do they come from? What do they do? Which genre do they play? See? All these questions come out of curiosity.
Now the band which comprises of Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman is as underground as it can get. The UK based duo rise deep from the ashes of house/techno with soul, like a phoenix and take to stage. Add a snap of bass and voila there you have it- Dusky. They were discovered by the label Dogmatik (same one that signed Mary Janes Cole). Now they have released their EP named Vanishing Point (See! Curious name again!).
The band has been receiving accolades from Pete Tong, Disclosure, Joy Orbison and Boddika to our very own table turner-Calvin Harris. It is completely buzzed out and jazzy to the core. Once you play it you have to hammer it out atleast ten times. Effortlessly moving between deep house and techno, this kind of mixing can only come with years and years of observation and training. All that has been jammed into this track and is waiting to burst forth.
You can buy their EP on Beatport.
